Feroz Khan's play
MAHATMA vs GANDHI
The play explores the
personal anguish of Mahatma Gandhi & his troubled son Harilal Gandhi.
This is an
actual account of events based on letters written by
Mahatma Gandhi & Harilal Gandhi, on articles written
by Gandhian Scholars, newspaper clippings, the biography of
'Harilal Gandhi' and inspired from a
Gujarati Novel 'Prakashno Padchhayo' by Dinkar Joshi.
As a young barrister in South Africa, M.K. Gandhi began his
initial experiments with truth and his journey
towards becoming a Mahatma. But the brunt of his
experiments largely borne by his family. Harilal,
his eldest & brightest son revolted against his father
& went in search of his own identity. This is a saga of a
Mahatma who transformed the soul of a nation but could not
save the soul of his own son.
