Erasing Borders: Festival of Indian Dance, August 18-21 2008
  
PERFORMERS   
  Manijeh Ali (Montreal, Canada)
  Manijeh Ali is a contemporary dancer and choreographer with intensive training in Bharata Natyam, Kathak, and traditional West African dance. Her choreography includes Montreal productions of Refuge (2008), Antachara (2007), Tarana (2007), Spirit of the Mountain (2006), Broken Heart (2005), To Your Rhythm Bharata Natyam (2005), Rythme en folie (2003), My Body Knows You (2002), and Khajuraho (2001). Originally from Afghanistan, Manijeh is the founder of Silken Dance (2006), which is committed to creating and producing contemporary dance projects that portray the history of people who live along the Silk Road. Manijeh is currently working on a project about Sufism to be presented in April, 2008 at Art Neuf (Montreal). Silken Dance's, Under the Blue Sky of Genghis Khan, is scheduled for performance in 2009.
