Nayikas-Samita Dance Theater Company: Founded in 2002 by artistic director Myna Mukherjee, Nayikas, a registered 501(c) 3 not-for-profit, is both a presenting and performing company. Originally established as New York's first resident classical Indian Odissi dance theater company, Nayikas draws from feminist iconography present in the footnotes of Indian mythology, history and literature while preserving the essential spiritual core of the dance form. www.nayikas.org
  
Rudrakshya: A group of young and vibrant male dancers from the East Indian State of Orissa, who have developed new work in Odissi,a dance style that is traditionally danced by women, and was popularized by the temple dancers or 'Devadasis' in India. Founded in 2002 by Guru Sri Bichitrananda Swain, Rudrakshya is dedicated to the enhancement of the Odissi dance style with special emphasis on developing new and innovative choreography specially for the 'Purush Ang' or male form.
