The Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council (MIAAC) Film Festival, celebrating its 8th year, will be screening an exquisite group of India-centric documentaries, features, shorts and classics in uptown and TriBeCa theaters. In addition to screenings, there will be numerous panel discussions with filmmakers (yes, Mira Nair) and a smattering of industry professionals.

Heaven on Earth, a story about a woman who travels to Canada in order to marry a character named Rocky, opens the festival on November 5th at Rose Hall, Lincoln Center. Some of the other films being screened are Lungiman Takes a Ride, Lakshmi and Me, Bose: The Forgotten Hero, Bound-Unbound: Journeys with Ram
