The New York Indian Film Festival is one of the most respected film festivals across the country. This annual event offers short films, documentaries and featurette’s from the Indian subcontinent. Presented by the Indo- American Arts Council; this festival is promised to be culturally diverse and exciting. From the many events planned such as film screenings, panel discussions, and the several different parties; one can certainly have an event filled day that turns into an exciting evening.

Over the course of 4 days filmmakers and spectators alike will gather to enjoy awards ceremonies and star studded red carpet proceedings. With 20 years of experience the Indo-American Arts Council prides itself on the relationship that it strives to have with the United States and Indian countries as it fuses its filmography and cultural talents. The IAAC takes equal delights in all aspects of art, including dance, fashion, art, film, books, music, and theater. The desire if the IAAC to display the quality of works provided by the Indian and surrounding continents resonates throughout the film festival each year. Recent changes in the festival have been that it is usually held in the fall but in 2011 it was held in the spring.
