Rituparno Ghosh’s Chitrangada to premiere at NYIFF

MUMBAI: The 12th annual New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) will premiere Rituparno Ghosh’s latest film 'Chitrangada' at the 12th annual New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF), which will run from May 23 to 27 at Tribeca Cinemas in Lower Manhattan.

The film has the director facing the camera in the role of a choreographer who plans to stage the dance drama Chitrangada on the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary.

The festival will close with Anurag Kashyap’s 'Gangs of Wasseypur' that will have its World premiere in Directors’ Fortnight at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. The festival will open with Bedabrata Pain’s 'Chittagong'.

Another highlight of the festival would be the screening of Oscar-winning documentary 'Saving Face' from Pakistan.

The festival, presented by the Indo-American Arts Council, will run from 23 to 27 May at Tribeca Cinemas in Lower Manhattan.
