Stills, trailer, U.S. premiere info: Bollywood horror "AATMA"
The New York Indian Film Festival that runs April 30-May 4 will offer the first chance for a U.S. audience to see the new horror film AATMA, which opened on home turf in March. Read on for details, an couple of photos and the trailer.

Directed and co-written by Suparn Verma, AATMA features Bollywood star Bipasha Basu, who was also in RAAZ 3D, which became one of India’s highest-grossing fright films ever last year. Here’s the synopsis: “AATMA follows a single mother, Maya Verma, who wants to start her life afresh with her 6-year-old daughter Nia. When Nia starts speaking to her dead father, Maya initially feels that her daughter has created an imaginary male figure to fill that gap in her life. But slowly Maya’s life grows darker, falling apart to the point that she starts to doubt her own sanity.”

AATMA has its U.S. premiere at the NY Indian Film Festival at midnight on Friday, May 3 at Tribeca Cinemas—the first horror film to ever have a midnight screening at the fest. Watch the trailer below the pics, and find out more about the event at its official website.
