Roopa Vohra’s Thewa Art & Jewellery - May 22 - 23, 2007

THEWA by ROOPA VOHRA -

Its unbelievable…unheard of…a myriad of colours in jewellery! Thewa launches its latest collection of the age old art that is being revived. The Moghul Art of fusing 23K Gold on Glass has received yet another fillip at the hands of Revivalist Jewellery designer Roopa Vohra. This time around she has put her years of training in glass making in Cyprus to stunning use and produced an effect in Thewa that that is simply unimaginable! Colours such as pistachew green, powder blue, baby pink, butter yellow etc are now available to the conscious dresser. Roopa Vohra's explanation is that if we can match our footwear to our
clothes, then we should be able to do the same with our jewellery. How many times can a person wear the same plain gold or diamond sets! So here is the beautiful and stunning alternative collection for the modern woman to wear and to experience! With the introduction of about 15 new colours, theres so much variety to choose from.

Full of impact, eye catching - is how you can describe what Roopa Vohra comes up with each time. Just the same way a "Pankhi" in a book caught her attention 6years ago. It led her to make an unstinting commitment to the revival of the dying art form of Thewa. Today, 6 years later, Thewa has become a must have for every lady's jewellery collection.

It is this unusual bent of mind that gave birth to the exotic new collection of jewellery that she will be unveiling shortly, to be sold exclusively from her Signature Studio at Juhu in Bombay. So get ready to experience an elevation of the senses!!

AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE A BALLAD OF ARTISTRY AND COLOUR - AN OPPORTUNITY TO
RELIVE, REVIVE AND RECREATE A PAGE FROM HISTORY!!!

NAQAASHI by ROOPA VOHRA -

Close your eyes! Dream up the most exotic piece of jewellery that you can! Chances are that even in your dreams you would not have seen the exotic jewellery that revivalist Couture Jeweller Roopa Vohra has developed! Yes, developed because nothing like this has ever existed in the history of jewellery! A glass making artist and jewellery designer by profession, Roopa Vohra has a penchance for the unusual. She now presents yet another unusual piece of work for the evolved senses,
Naqaashi!
This collection, as she puts it, is for those people who have highly evolved tastes and know the worth of an exquisite piece of art. An artist before anything else, Roopa lays utmost importance on the aesthetics, when making any piece of jewellery. Not one for the typical forms of jewellery that eventually find their way to the safe and hardly ever see the light of the day. She believes in making jewellery that is beautiful, wearable yet stunning! What you wear as jewellery/accessory must add to your personality, not take away from it, she says. I make jewellery that enriches the senses. Beautiful pieces that make you stop and want to take a closer look. Jewellery that elevates the wearer and stuns the onlooker! Full of impact, eye catching is how you can describe what Roopa Vohra comes up with each time. Just the same way a "Pankhi" in a book caught her attention 6 years ago. It led her to make an unstinting commitment to the revival of the dying art form of Thewa. Today, 6 years later, Thewa is Roopa's trademark and has become a must have for every lady's jewellery collection. It is this unusual bent of mind that gave birth to the exotic new form of jewellery

COCKTAIL JEWELERY by ROOPA VOHRA -

Since 1997, Couture Jeweler Roopa Vohra, has been creating jewelry with a distinctively Mughal flavour. Ranging from reviving dying art forms such as Thewa and now Naqaashi, Roopa has acquired the reputation of a Revivalist! She, however, is and remains, a Couture Jeweler. This is reflected in her
latest collection, suitably named Cocktail Jewelry. With an in depth knowledge of the coloured gemstone market and remarkable creative intuition, Roopa has been able to assert herself on the international market, with a clientele that ranges from Princes to Presidents and an ever increasing list of our very own home grown Celebs and VVIP's. Her Cocktail Jewelry collection is distinguished by its profound originality, where even the most conventional pieces are given an unusual twist, imbued with a dreamlike character! The stones are voluptuous pearls, flamboyant rubies, exquisitely cut Topazes, Sapphires, Amethysts, etc supported by white and natural black diamonds. As she, very categorically states, this collection has a strong character and is meant for the woman who is sure of herself and has the capacity to leave an indelible impression on your mind. Each stone is worked upon one at a time, inventing a story for each jewel. Her innovative style and her passion for perfection are sometimes stretched to the limit with a touch of humour and above all plenty of daring - it was indeed her idea to use stones cut to rare sizes of 20 carats and above, especially for this
collection …
Well known for her innovation, Roopa has once again captured a style and spirit with colour, right on target in her new line, Cocktail Jewelry. Understated, easygoing and above all elegant. Parisian and Baroque styling is present in the rich Colours and voluptuous styling! These marvelously created pieces are the ultimate statement in the world of Luxury Jewelry!!
