new thriller/love story "Shalimar the Clown", Mallika Sarabhai's "Hot Talas, Cool Rasas" dance concert, the fabulous Fifth IAAC Film Festival, Javed Akhtar's
inspired rendition of "shairi", Satish Joshi'sgentle exhibition "The Reflection Series", culminating in Dr. Salman Akhtar's "Freud along the Ganges".
It is time to take stock, to thank you for your generous support and to request you to please help us continue providing New York - and you - with wonderful quality programming while simultaneously showcasing both established as well as young, emerging talent.
We wish to remain a vital cultural force and can achieve this with your support. | Fifth Annual IAAC Film Festival November 2-6 - An inspired opening night screening of Deepa Mehta’s Water at the Lincoln Center followed by a fabulous line-up of shorts, documentaries and features, including a tribute to Ismail Merchant, at the Anthology Film Archives enthralled a diverse audience. |

Shashi Tharoor’s Bookless in Baghdad - June 28
The Indo-American Arts Counil and the Rubin Museum of Art cohosted a reception on June 28th, 2005 in honor of Shashi Tharoor's "Bookless in Baghdad: Reflections on Literature, Writing & Writers." The wide-ranging volume contains essays on Winston Churchill, V.S. Naipaul, R.K. Narayan, and Salman Rushdie, as well a discussion of
Hollywood and Bollywood. |

Asian Diaspora Community to produce an annual
South Asian Diaspora Playwrights Festival. |
