The IAAC is a not-for-profit arts organization passionately dedicated to celebrating, showcasing, promoting and building an awareness of artists of Indian origin in the performing, visual and literary arts. We are primarily a volunteer organization and manage our exciting events through equally passionate volunteers and interns.

Interns and volunteers learn unbelievable skills by working hands on all projects and are welcome to attend all IAAC events free of charge. All Interns and Volunteers are thanked and acknowledged for their specific responsibilities in our event brochures.

Interns are unpaid but may receive college credit. Interns are paired with a mentor who ensures the experience is mutually gainful for both parties. They are immediately required for:

IAAC 6th Annual Erasing Borders Exhibiton of Contemporary Indian Art of the Diaspora At Crossing Art - ACAW 10-18 May Erasing Borders: Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Indian Art of the Diaspora. Interns will
  • Assist the Director in organizing the event
  • Be given a significant responsibility
  • Commit to a regular schedule of approximately 16-30 hours a week
  • Have administrative duties
  • Connect with the artists
  • Work on publicity, liason, outreach
  • Be responsible for schedules, meetings, receptions
  • Work on all aspects of that specific festival along with the Director.
Volunteers are immediately required for the MIAAC FILM FESTIVAL in New York City. Volunteers will be responsible for:

  • Publicity and outreach – traditional and online media & social networks
  • Hospitality – organizing transportation, accommodation, catering for incoming filmmakers
  • Designer – brochure, postcards, flyers, posters, step & repeat
  • Printing coordinator
  • Print traffic
  • Volunteer coordinator for ushering, liason etc
  • Gift bags
  • Award Night
  • Panel discussions
  • Press Conference
  • Photography & Videography
  • Production
  • Marketing and Screening partners
  • Advertisements
