Maitreya Padukone
Maitreya Padukone was inspired and initiated into the art of Tabla playing by Pt. Nikhil Ghosh in the mid 60's. Since then he has provided tabla accompaniment to well known artists like Dr. Rajiv Taranath(sarod), Mallavika Kanan, Sheila Dhar,(vocal), Ustad Sultan Khan and Pt. Ramesh Misra(sarangi),Steve Gorn(Basuri), Kala Ramanath(violin) and many others.

He continues to receive advanced tabla training from Ustad Shabir Nissar, and Pt.Nayan Ghosh. A Dentist by profession in Manhattan, he continues to promote musicians in NYC as the VP of Raga Music Circle of New York. He is also a consultant to The Jazz Foundation of America and provides pro bono Dental treatment to struggling Jazz musicians.
