Rishi Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma and Aparna Sen honoured at New York Indian Film Festival
May 10, 2011

Do Dooni Chaar may be off the theatres now, but it is one film that is still going strong at the festival circuits. After earning Rishi Kapoor some rave reviews locally, the film is going great guns at the international shores as well. The recent 'update' on the film is that Rishi Kapoor picked up the Best Actor Award at the 2011 New York Indian Film Festival, which was held at Jumeirah Essex House recently.

An elated Rishi said that he is really thankful and honored to be selected among the usual festival luminaries per se. He also added that a commercial actor is seldom recognized for his skills and that his award was dedicated to the whole Do Dooni Chaar family.

Meanwhile, Aparna Sen picked up the Best Director award while Konkona Sen Sharma got the Best Actress award for Bengali film Iti Mrinalini and Mohan Raghavan's Malayalam film T.D. Dasan Std. VI B got the Best Screenplay award at the festival.
