The actor proudly told us, "I am thankful and honoured to be selected among the usual festival luminaries per se. A commercial actor is seldom recognised for his skills. My award is for the whole Do Dooni Char family."

Kapoor also revealed the plans for a sequel to the critically acclaimed film. "Yes, the producers Disney International have asked Habib to make Do Dooni Char 2. They have realised that the film suffered mainly due to a bad release.

Also there's a huge excitement here in New York, to recreate the characters of Do Dooni Chaar in a different space. The producers feel that if a good script develops, it will be a great content value for their brand in India and overseas.

Representatives of Disney India are also here in New York to release the official DVD of Do Dooni Chaar."

Incidentally, the US premiere of Do Dooni Chaar had marked the opening of the eleventh New York Indian Film Festival.

After receiving his award, Rishi accompanied by his wife Neetu Singh left for a vacation in sin city, Las Vegas.
