Post screening discussion with Director Gurinder Chadha

Synopsis: A group of women of Indian descent take a trip together from their home in Birmingham, England to the beach resort of Blackpool. The women vary in ages from mid-teens to old, and initially have little in common. But the events of the day lead them to better mutual understanding and solidarity.

Gurinder Chadha
was born in Kenya, and grew up in Southall, London, England. She began her career as a news reporter with BBC Radio, directed several award winning documentaries for the BBC, and began an alliance with the British Film Institute (BFI) and Channel Four. In 1990, Chadha set up her own production company: Umbi Films. 
 
 
 
  Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Gurinder Chadha's Bhaji on the Beach: Tuesday May 6th at 8 pm.
There will be a post-screening celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Bhaji on the Beach with Gurinder Chadha at BAR VELOCE, 175 2nd Avenue (between 12th & 11th Streets), NYC.
