Total Running Time: 2 minutes 40 seconds

Description:
Converge represents the interstitial gap between reality and fantasy, a time when birds converge in the sky out of their own accord, denoting freedom and movement. This happens as a daily occurrence in Karachi. By transforming it in drawing, I seek to trace out the patterns of the birds and recreate their movement in my imagination- light, ambiguous, circling-- slicing their way across the expanse of the blank screen.

Description:
Seen/ Unseen is a hand drawn animation that evokes the unconscious through the use of symbolism and metaphor. It explores the state of being in two places at one time.
The Animation “Seen/Unseen” came about as a result of creating individual drawings and altering them frame by frame, also by hand, to capture the process of creating a mark on paper and how it is changed over time. Each drawing was then scanned in or captured in to the computer creating moving sequences. Each successive drawing represents an imperfection arising out of the process of copying by hand. These sequences are then layered and altered through time further emphasizing the effect of lines as a meditation on the image.
