Erasing Borders 2008: IAAC FESTIVAL OF INDIAN DANCE: AUGUST 18-21, 2008
  

Festival Structure

The IAAC Dance festival will comprise of

  • Two days Outdoor day-time performances
  • Two days Indoor evening performances
  • Education and outreach programs
  • Workshops, panel discussions, lecture-demonstrations

We have been invited to participate in the Battery Dance Company's 27th Annual Downtown Dance Festival which attracts over 1000 people per day. The First IAAC Dance Festival's Outdoor performances will be a festival within a festival!

High-energy, dynamic, vibrant, innovative group choreographies will be presented during the Daytime Performance segment

Daytime Performances (Open-air - Outdoor)

  • Collaboration with 27th Annual Downtown Dance Festival
  • Proposed Dates: August 18-19 2008
  • Venue: Chase Plaza, NYC.
  • Times: 12 noon - 1:30 pm.
  • Stage: 24' x 36'
  • Average attendance: 1000 people per day
  • Price: Free
  • Length of each performance: Minimum 10 minutes
                                                          Maximum 20 minutes

Evening Performances (Concert-style - Indoor)

  • Proposed Dates: August 16-17 2008
  • Venue: TBD (To be decided)
  • Times: 7 pm - 9 pm.
  • Stage: TBD
  • Average attendance: 200-300 people per day
  • Price: $25 to $75 per person
  • Length of each performance: Minimum 10 minutes
                                                         Maximum 40 minutes
